She spent several years touring as a feature dancer at strip clubs around the country, before returning to the sex industry as an agent, and later also as an explicit performer.  Her enhanced 38DD rack and her easy rapport in front of the camera made her a natural.  Though she enjoyed some success in the 1990s, she really came to prominence a decade later . . . when her adult work would affect the rest of the world.
The American star – who came to renowned in Hustler’s best-selling Who's Nailin' Paylin?, where she played Alaskan bombshell “Sara Paylin” – is the most searched-for porn star in the world.  She has been hailed by as one of the most powerful people in the adult industry.  She is also been called the Queen of the MILFs for popularizing the adult movie specialty niche featuring mature, over-30s women.

In March 2010, Lisa Ann appeared in a Public Service Announcement for the Free Speech Coalition on the topic of internet piracy of adult content. The spot, entitled the "FSC All-Star Anti-Piracy PSA," saw Lisa Ann in the company of other top-tier adult performers such as Julie Meadows, Kimberly Kane, Ron Jeremy, and Wicked Pictures contract stars Alektra Blue and Kaylani Lei.  Lisa Ann was chosen to host the XRCO Awards in April 2010 along with Nikki Benz and Sean Michaels.  In 2011, CNBC included her on a list it called "The Dirty Dozen," comprising the 12 most popular pornstars. In addition to shooting and touring she also hosted a talk show called Strippertown on Sirius satellite radio.

But her first love has always been doing MILF movies:

"I love shooting MILF – it’s fun. We do a nicer scene than the stuff some of the younger girls are still having to do. Your scene is more aggressive when you’re younger, and it just doesn’t make any sense for an 18-year-old boy to be super-aggressive with a 41-year-old girl. I get to be the aggressor. It’s still a comforting thing for me because I’m in control of the scene. I like where it goes and I like the intimidation factor a little bit. I think it’s cute."
